UBTECH is expanding into both consumer and heavy industrial markets, securing a strategic partnership with Hitachi and launching a new personal robot brand that sent its shares up over 9%.
"The company's humanoid robot revenue is expected to surge, becoming its primary income source in 2025," Western Securities research indicated, maintaining a "Buy" rating on the stock.
The Hong Kong-listed robotics firm saw its stock close at 122.70 HKD on Wednesday, a 9.07 percent increase, with turnover reaching 1.66 billion HKD. The move follows the May 20 announcement of its consumer-level UWORLD brand and a new cooperation agreement with Hitachi (China) to deploy its robots in sectors from elevators and healthcare to semiconductor manufacturing.
The dual strategy positions UBTECH to capture revenue from two distinct, high-growth markets. The Hitachi partnership provides a crucial entry into established industrial workflows, while the UWORLD brand targets the nascent but potentially massive home robotics market, justifying the bullish analyst outlook.
Hitachi Deal Unlocks Industrial Automation
The strategic agreement with Hitachi (China) is set to integrate UBTECH's humanoid robots into the Japanese conglomerate’s diverse business lines. According to the agreement, the collaboration will span intelligent solutions for elevators, building management systems, healthcare, and advanced manufacturing, including industrial and semiconductor equipment. This partnership uses UBTECH's specialization in humanoid robotics with Hitachi's deep expertise in industrial system integration, aiming to develop new automated solutions for complex production environments. For investors, this represents a significant validation of UBTECH's technology and a direct path to enterprise-level revenue streams.
UWORLD Targets Untapped Consumer Market
On the consumer front, founder Zhou Jian's announcement of the UWORLD brand marks a major push into personal and family robotics. The company stated that these robots will initially focus on emotional companionship, education, and entertainment. This move taps into a market segment with a wide range of potential price points, from accessible entry-level products to more advanced general-purpose service robots for the home. While the consumer robotics space includes established players like iRobot in cleaning, UBTECH is betting on the appeal of a more interactive, humanoid form factor.
Analyst Sees Strong Revenue Growth Ahead
Western Securities' latest report projects an aggressive growth trajectory for UBTECH, forecasting revenues to reach 3.84 billion yuan in 2026, a year-over-year increase of 91.9 percent. The firm's model sees revenue climbing to 5.26 billion yuan in 2027 and 7.91 billion yuan in 2028. This optimism is underpinned by UBTECH's expanding production capacity, which is set to exceed 6,000 full-size humanoid robots annually by the end of 2025. The company's new Thinker-WM world model, an upgrade to its embodied AI brain, is expected to be the core technology driving these advancements.
