- Hang Seng Tech Index will add MINIMAX-W (00100.HK) and KNOWLEDGE ATLAS (02513.HK)
- The index will remove KINGDEE INT'L (00268.HK) and KINGSOFT (03888.HK)
- All changes will be effective from the market open on June 8, 2026

The Hang Seng Tech Index will add two new artificial intelligence companies and remove two software firms in its latest quarterly review, a move that takes effect after market close on June 5, 2026.
The changes were announced by the Hang Seng Indexes Company following its review for the quarter ended March 31, 2026. "All changes will be implemented after market close on 5 June 2026 (Friday) and take effect on 8 June 2026 (Monday)," the company said in a statement.
The index will include AI platform MINIMAX-W (00100.HK) and AI-driven data provider KNOWLEDGE ATLAS (02513.HK). Shares of both companies surged on the news, with MINIMAX-W closing up 15.9 percent and KNOWLEDGE ATLAS soaring 26.9 percent. The two companies being removed are KINGDEE INT'L (00268.HK) and KINGSOFT (03888.HK). The total number of constituents in the index will remain unchanged at 30.
The rebalancing will force passive funds and exchange-traded funds that track the Hang Seng Tech Index to buy the incoming stocks and sell the outgoing ones. This mandatory portfolio adjustment is expected to create significant buying pressure for MINIMAX-W and KNOWLEDGE ATLAS, while KINGDEE INT'L and KINGSOFT will likely face increased selling pressure leading up to the effective date.
The inclusion marks a significant validation for the two AI firms, reflecting the technology's growing prominence in the Hong Kong market. According to a recent JPMorgan report, while new AI models from competitors like DeepSeek offer cost advantages, companies such as KNOWLEDGE ATLAS and MINIMAX-W must strengthen their strategic positioning to compete effectively.
The removal of Kingdee International, a business management software provider, and Kingsoft, a software and internet services company, reflects a broader shift in the composition of the technology index toward newer AI-focused business models.
